Good Food, Made Simple
Philleigh Way Cookery School
Cooking and eating, the Philleigh Way
In 2018, one of Cornwall’s most popular and well-established cookery schools very nearly closed its doors for good. It was rescued by former professional rugby player turned chef, Rupert Cooper. With fresh ownership came fresh challenges.
A year in to running every aspect of this multi-faceted food experience and hospitality business single-handed, Rupert turned to Hailer to provide strategy, support, consistency and content for Philleigh Way’s marketing.
Understanding Philleigh Way’s existing and target customers was key to designing a strategy that would reactivate past customers and build their community. Overhauling the cookery school’s email marketing strategy and design yielded instant results, after which we turned to attracting and engaging new customers through social media. The coronavirus pandemic hit six months into our working relationship, and two of the worst affected industries were hospitality and experience-based businesses; Philleigh Way is both. Rupert adapted his business, maintained a focus on sharing quality content with the cookery school’s following, prepared for the possibility of future lockdowns, and his business made it through. Together we’ve grown Philleigh Way cookery school’s audience, it’s community, and Rupert’s profile as a chef and communicator.
"I thought I was signing up for slow burn, organic growth, but in actual fact the positive impact of working with Hailer was almost immediate."
We've helped to grow Philleigh Way's following by over 200% in the first two years.
Brands can use their imagery and stories to inspire. Hailer can generate those images and stories.
