Fruutbox are a plastic free fresh fruit and veg box delivery service, designed to meet the needs of young families. They were planning and testing their offering, with a view to launching as a nationwide service in the summer of 2020, when in March the world was abruptly paused by the pandemic. Their friends persuaded them to launch there and then, meeting the needs of housebound local families. So they bought a second hand refrigerated van and set to it.

Recognising that it would be difficult to juggle family life in lockdown with taking their business along an unplanned and unknown path, Katie got in touch and we ran through a coaching workshop to set her up with a plan until a regular space in Hailer’s stable became available. When one did a few months later, FruutBox snapped it up. We developed a clean, modern aesthetic to fit their branding, immediately differentiate FruutBox from other veg box schemes, and to appeal to their primary target market of busy young parents. A long-term strategy to create informed customers has led to in-depth articles on topics such as seasonality and reducing food waste, alongside tips and a range of recipes. We’ve elevated their subscriber communications above and beyond service updates, and grown a community of customers who have remained with FruutBox long after life and shopping habits returned to their previous ways.
