Hailer’s 2023-2024 Carbon Accounts

30% Reduction On Previous Year

Every year, in line with the tax year, Hailer’s carbon footprint is measured and then accounted for.

For the 2023-2024 tax year the business’ operational carbon footprint across Scopes 1 & 2 and including Scope 3 considerations (and team commuting to and from work) was down by 33% to 1.59 metric tons CO2 equivalent.

This was accounted for and offset 3x over: once through a certified carbon credit scheme with Climate Impact Partners, and then the same volume of CO2e has been mitigated twice over through the planting of 12 trees in Hailer’s “grove” with Scottish rewilding charity Trees For Life.

For 2023-2024, here are the numbers:

Scope 1
Mileage = 0.88 metric tons: 2462 miles in a EU 2007 HONDA CR-V 07 EX, 6MT

Scope 2
Electricity = 0.20 metric tons: 888 kWh of electricity at 0.2254 kgCO2e/kWh

Scope 3
Insurance, phone etc = 0.51 metric tons:

Total = 1.59 metric tonnes CO2e

This means that alongside reducing the business’ environmental impact, for 2023-2024 Hailer was 3x Carbon Neutral making this business’ existence a positive thing for the planet.
